Delhi Public School, Dehradun

This used to be the best school in the district but for last few years, me being an ex-student is considering it as one of the worst schools in Dehradun. I'll state my proper and honest experience below:- 1. Teachers have their favourite child only whom they'll listen to and ignore the others. In any mischief they'll openly support their favourite student. 2. After class 8th Teachers take education for granted since the student will learn via youtube/tutions/coachings. 3. Students are not allowed to express themselves, only a selected group of teacher's favourites will get chances to perform everything during activities. 4. They collect approximately 6000 to 7000 every year on the name of different activities which should be free. 4. Threatening student to pay unnecessary amount and harassing if not paid. There are many other reasons you can contact for further requirements and proof of identity

As an ex student who studied from 1st to 10th, I can recommend the school! The school campus is great, the teachers are really nice, well atleast most of em, it's silent and nice there. Classrooms are nice and big, real cozy with large open windows, natural light and just a nice environment to study in. The school isn't super strict either so that's nice. The teachers are very educated and are down to help if you approach them. The focus on quality education is real and the management is very good! I say this because I transfered to DIS for my 11th and 12th and those guys barely have a clue as to what they're doing half the time. DPS atleast sends notices on time, completes syllabus beforehand, has the test datesheet and syllabus out on a good notice of time and also takes the test the way they're supposed to be taken. This doesn't mean the school is perfect, it has its own share of issues. Them being, the education and tests can get stressful at times. There's a hard focus on notebook work even if they don't hold any value or aren't needed. The school issues so many unnecessary charges for various activities which one may not be interested in but has to pay for. The major problem tho is that the school has no focus on behavioral development, mental heath and other activities. There's no art, music, dance, yoga and other subjects after your 8th (I think it's 8th). This can really make the day dreadful, it takes all the fun out of it if all you get is a single period of library and 3 periods of sports a week. For a school so well managed and working so beautifully together with the kids to get them to be better, it really sucks that it's not so open minded and has no focus on other fields where students can really excel in. I hope DPS works on that! Anyhoo, I recommend, don't go for DIS instead, that one sucks. I miss you guys, Goodluck! <3

Principal is not coming regularly.Principal's secretary is doing nothing about the complains. The roof of a class leaks and yet they have taken no action to fix it. Things that have not been teached in the class and even not given in syllabus are coming in exams of kids from small classes and kids are expected to answer all questions in the examination. The staff members do not teach properly and do not check the notebooks properly. The teachers hit the students and scolds the children unnecessarily. They have been charging 1st quarter fees from parents even though people joined mid session. It is outrageous to see the name of DPS going to shame because of this school.

If your son or daughter is preparing for Neet or Engineering then avoid this school. The school is concerned about board result only, its their main priority, competition doesn't matter to them . For 11th and 12th class instead of 5 subjects they make 6 subjects mandatory so that student will get less time for competitive exams and ask students to come daily to school so that students won't get time for preparation.The principal is arrogant, expecting anything from him is like hitting ur head on stone.
